Flee Not, Change The World !
The UP Police and STF, and the Godi Media dancing to its tunes, are leaving no stone unturned to falsely implicate Himanshu and other activists and workers for the violence in Noida. About all this, it's imperative to know who Himanshu and other activists really are who have constantly been labeled as "masterminds" behind the Noida violence "conspiracy".![]()

On 30th April, Disha Students' Organization participated in a protest called by CaRWAN (Campaign for the Release of Workers and Activists of Noida) to demand the release of all workers and activists who have been implicated under false charges in Noida and Manesar.![]()
The protest was joined by students, workers, and activists from across the NCR. Various student and trade union organizations too participated in the protest against the state repression upon workers and activists as unleashed by the UP and Haryana governments. Among others, Retd. Prof. Nandita Narayan and Retd. Prof. Madhu Prasad addressed the gathering, expressed their solidarity with the illegally arrested activists and workers, and spoke at length of the need to stand unitedly against the attack on democratic and workers' rights.![]()
Beginning from the start of April, a series of strikes broke out in Manesar, Gurgaon, across various industrial units. Workers took to the streets against petty wages, miserable working conditions, and non-implementation of labour laws. Many workers continued to join the strike, with various student and worker activists too coming in solidarity with the struggling workers. Despite attempts of the Haryana police to crush the workers, the united strength of the workers ultimately compelled the fascist Haryana government to recognize the plight of the workers, and eventually the minimum wages were increased by 35%. The struggling workers witnessed partial success. However, soon police repression followed, and many workers and activists were illegally arrested and framed under false charges.![]()
Meanwhile, the workers of Noida, taking note of the partial victory of the struggle of their brethren in Manesar, took to the streets against the shocking working conditions, worse than even Manesar. Being compelled to work 12-14 hours at merely ₹10-12,000 a month, in most cases even without weekly days off, and with no safety measures being followed at the workplaces, the workers had no other option but to speak up boldly. Although, despite having the headquarters of various media outlets, the Noida strike received almost zero coverage. No doubt, the Godi media didn't want to get its partisanship to the capitalists and fascist BJP government eroded even a bit. Despite the 'conspiratorial' silence by mainstream media over the struggle of workers in Noida, the workers continued their strike peacefully and were joined by many conscientious student and worker activists, who chose to stand for justice rather than grumble "conspiracy" theories of workers being "trigged" by "external elements"; else they would have silently kept on bearing the patheticness they were made to bear by the capitalist class and fascist Yogi government working in its interests. However, this sense of justice of activists and workers didn't suit well with the fascist Yogi government. In continuity of attempts to crush the strike, 4 activists were abducted by the UP police on 11th April; unsurprisingly, they needed someone upon whom to throw the weight of the real conspiracy being prepared by the fascist Yogi government—to crush the workers and teach them a "lesson" who dared to speak up for justice. Susequently, violence erupted on 13th April. However, many facts have appeared up through independent investigations by activists and independent media, which hints at the role of the UP police in instigating the violence in order to delegitimize the strike and crush it. Soon police repression followed. Many hundreds of workers, including school children, and activists were abducted in the name of arrest. All due processes and legal rights were made mockery of by the UP police and the STF constituted to investigate the "conspiracy" behind all this. The UP police and STF have since then been making illegal raids, arrests, and seizures at will without recourse to any legal process.![]()
Members of 'Disha'—Himanshu and Aakriti, along with 5 other activists and hundreds of workers of Noida, who stood against the inhumane working conditions in Noida and for wage increment—have been illegally incarcerated by the UP police for the past 3 weeks now without any due procedure. The UP police, under the thumb of the fascist Yogi government, have fabricated an entirely false narrative with the help of Godi media to delegitimize workers and conscientious students and activists fighting for their rights.![]()
Activists were subjected to mental and physical torture inside prison. Many activists were abused and had to face slurs based on their identity by Noida police, who have continuously broken each and every procedure of law. Himanshu was tortured with a leather belt. His mother, who eventually got a chance to meet him after being kept unknown for long about his whereabouts by the UP police, recounted torture marks upon the hands of Himanshu.![]()
Disha Students' Organization firmly stands with the workers and activists of Noida and demands immediate release of all of them. We also demand impartial inquiry into the role of Noida police in orchestrating the violence and custodial torture.
