సాయుధ పోరాట విప్లవనారి చిట్యాల ఐలమ్మకు (1895-10 Sept. 1985) విప్లవాభివందనాలు!

నిజాం నవాబుకు, ఆయన తొత్తులైన భూస్వాములకు వ్యతిరేకంగా జరిగిన తెలంగాణ సాయుధ పోరాటంలో ఐలమ్మ పాత్ర గొప్పది.

1895 లో వరంగల్ జిల్లా రాయపర్తి మండలం కిష్ణపురంలో ఆమె జన్మించింది. నాటి రోజుల్లో పాలకుర్తి మండలం విసునూరు గ్రామానికి చెందిన దేశ్ ముఖ్ రాపాక రామచంద్రారెడ్డి 60 గ్రామాలకు అధిపతి. రజాకార్లకు ఉపసేనాధిపతిగా పని చేసాడు. నిజాం నవాబులు, భూస్వాములు, దొరలు ప్రజల చేత వెట్టిచాకిరీ చేయించి, అణచివేసి వారు మాత్రం విలాస జీవితం గడిపారు.

నిరంకుశ, వెట్టిచాకిరీ వ్యవస్థకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పోరాడిన వారిని అరెస్ట్ చేయడం, పంటపొలాలకి నిప్పు పెట్టడం లాంటి అనేక దుర్మార్గమైన పనులు చేసారు. భూస్వాముల దౌర్జన్యం, దొరల అరాచకత్వానికి ప్రజలు ఎదురు తిరిగి సాయుధ పోరాటాన్ని కొనసాగించారు.

“నీ గడీల గడ్డి మొల్తది” విసునూరు దొరతో ఐలమ్మ అన్న మాట ఇది. ఈ మాట జనంలో మహా తిరుగుబాటు చైతన్యాన్ని రగిలించింది. దొరల, జమీందార్ల దోపిడీకి, వెట్టిచాకిరీ విముక్తి కోసం “దున్నే వాడికే భూమి” అన్న నినాదంతో కదిలారు.

పోరాడితే పోయేది ఏమీ లేదు అని గుర్తించి ప్రజలు నిప్పుకణికలై పోరుబాట పట్టారు. దేశ్ ముఖ్ లను తరిమికొట్టారు. తర తరాలుగా సాగుతున్న దోపిడీకి ఎదురుతిరిగారు. నేడు వ్యవస్థ మారినా కూడా దోపిడీ మరో రూపంలో కొనసాగుతూనే ఉంది. పెట్టుబడిదారీ వ్యవస్థలో నేటికి ఎన్నో అసమానతలు, వివక్షలు కొనసాగుతున్నాయి.

తెలంగాణ సాయుధ పోరాటంలో చిట్యాల ఐలమ్మ యొక్క సాహసోపేత పాత్ర స్ఫూర్తితో నేటికీ కొనసాగుతున్న దోపిడీకి వ్యతిరేకంగా, దోపిడీని పెంచి పోషిస్తున్న ఈ పెట్టుబడిదారీ వ్యవస్థకు విరుద్ధంగా మనం పోరాడి సమాసమాజాన్ని నిర్మించుకుందాం.

Revolutionary Salute to Chityala Ailamma, 1895-10 Sept. 1985) a great leader of the Telangana Armed Struggle!

Ailamma’s role in the Telangana armed struggle against the Nizam of Hyderabad and his landlords was immense.

She was born in 1895 in Kishnapuram, Rayaparthi mandal of Warangal district. In those days Deshmukh Rapaka Ramachandra Reddy of Visnoor village, Palakurti mandal was the head of 60 villages. He worked as a deputy commander of the Razakars. The Nizam, landlords and nobles lived a life of luxury and decadence by subjecting the people to a system of bonded labour (vetti).

They unleashed heavy repression against those who fought against the barbaric vetti system by arresting people, setting fire to their crops etc. The people took up an armed struggle against the tyranny of the landlords and the nobles.

This is what Ailamma said to the landlord of Visnoor: “Grass will sprout on your fort.” This ignited a great revolutionary consciousness among the people. They moved forward with the slogan “Land to the tiller” against the exploitation of nobles and zamindars and for the liberation from the vetti system.

Recognising that there is nothing left to lose, the people fought with a fiery resolve. The landlords were driven out. They rose against exploitation that lasted for generations. Today, though the system has changed, exploitation continues to persist in a different form. Inequality and discrimination continue to plague the people in the capitalist system today.

Let us take inspiration from Chityala Ailamma’s courageous role in the Telangana armed struggle, and let us fight against the exploitation that continues today and this capitalist system that breeds it, and build a truly equal and just society.
